Produced from recordings in May and June of 1987 and 1988, American Woodland 1, 2 & 3 showcase the rich mix of bird species nesting in upstate New York during that time. With many species in decline, we think of these recordings as a time capsule of 20th century birdlife in the American Northeast. American Woodland 1 is from a woodland of medium age, American Woodland 2, a mature woodland, and American Woodland 3, a young woodland.
